The U.S. Just Issued a Stark Warning Ahead of Pride

The United States government just issued a stark warning ahead of Pride month.

An advisory from the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is urging people to “exercise increased caution” at upcoming Pride events worldwide.

The alert, issued May 10, warns that “foreign terrorist organizations or supporters may seek to exploit increased gatherings associated with the upcoming June 2024 Pride Month.”

The advisory notes that June marks the 8th anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub massacre, when a gunman inspired by ISIS propaganda brutally murdered 49 people in Orlando, Florida. It was one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.

Also, in 2023, three alleged ISIS sympathizers were arrested for plotting an attack against the Pride parade in Vienna, Austria.

In light of these threats, the FBI urges everyone to stay vigilant. Be aware of your surroundings, report any suspicious activity to the authorities, and don't hesitate to call 911 in an emergency.

Threats like this are nothing new; they’re precisely why Pride remains so vital. It's a defiant stand against hatred, a vibrant display of our community's strength and resilience, and a reminder that we will always triumph.

And on that note, here’s a massive list of literally every gay pride event happening in the US this year from our friends at Pride.com. From coast to coast, you'll find parades, parties, and plenty of opportunities to show that you won’t let fear and hatred win.
